DAR is the investment manager of a US$ 50 million Agriculture Fund currently under placement. The investment objective of this fund is long-term capital appreciation through investing in the entire value chain of the Agricultural sector in India, from land acquisition and cultivation (owned and contracted) by way of a focused crop-strategy, through to post harvest optimization including warehousing, processing, packaging and retail. DAR has already identified vast tracts of agricultural land in the states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and is currently in advanced negotiations to take up a majority stake in a well-known food processing and packaging company in India. The fund will be administered and managed by Signature-DAR Asset Management Company.

As part of its ongoing investments in the media sector DAR has recently decided to enter the high-potential Indian content business through a slew of full-length feature film and television projects aimed at both the domestic, as well as the increasingly lucrative international markets. To this end DAR Media, a fully owned subsidiary of the Group has signed a three-feature film deal with leading film director Mr. Mahesh Manjrekar. All of these projects are currently in pre-production stage, and the first will go on the floors by end October, 2009. All the films are slated to be released in 2010.

A natural extension of DAR’s communication consulting services and content business, DAR’s Entertainment Marketing division was set up to address the growing need for quality fully-integrated entertainment marketing companies in India, arising out of the near chronic dearth of such firms in the country, especially in Bollywood. In addition to the regular communication advisory services, this division also offers a whole set of entertainment and film marketing services including Communication Strategy, Creative Strategy & Design Services, Publicity, Media Buying, In-Film Placements, Merchandising, Launch / Release and on ground activities, and On-Line & Social Networking services amongst others

On behalf of a consortium of investors from the Middle East DAR is currently in the due diligence phase to locate a site in Malaysia for a dedicated integrated sports and training facility in Selangor, Malaysia. The facility will be managed and operated by one of the most well-known soccer clubs from Europe and will be the first such facility in Asia. The deal is expected to be completed by Q1-2010
